30A Beach Vacation 2022: Part 1

That title is a mouthful. 30A is an area between Destin and Panama City in Florida that Nathan’s family has visited for years. And I eagerly adopted as a favorite vacation spot after joining their family. πŸ™‚ This is my third trip to 30A. We always have so much fun! But we definitely missed having friends and family there with us this year.

We stayed in the same beach house rental that we did last year. In 2021, we went to the beach with my sister and her family, and absolutely loved the proximity to the beach and Seaside, one of our favorite beach towns, so we opted for the same house again!

Our Itinerary for the first part of the trip was:

  • Saturday: Arrive in Panama City. Lauren grocery shop while the boys nap. 5:45 reservation at Great Southern in Seaside
  • Sunday: Beach day! Pack sandwiches and spend the day at the beach, and the pool in the afternoon. Tacos and Mexican Rice for dinner at home!
  • Monday: Beach day again! Same plan as previous day. Order pizza to the house for dinner, and crab hunting after dark!

I’m going to share a whole bunch of pictures!

I think we’ve perfected getting all of our stuff to the airport and parking the car….

Ready to get on the airplane!

We had a debacle at the Panama City airport. Due to weather in PCB, our gate checked items (ahem…stroller to keep Jonathan contained) got sent to baggage claim. They were way backed up getting bags out. Then…the rental car we had chosen ended up being too small to fit all of our luggage. So we had to upgrade to a bigger car! It made for a very long time at the PCB airport getting everything situated!

He looks happy as a clam to not be strapped into his stroller, though, and making one parent chase after him through baggage claim.

First day on the beach was a hit, though!

Our second beach day involved sand castles, lots of ocean floating, and snacks, snacks, snacks.

After dinner on Monday, we got ready to go hunt crabs on the beach! This is one of Harrison’s favorite activities!

Part 2 to come later!

  1. I’ve only heard of the 30A area through blogging and it does look like a wonderful vacation spot! Despite airport snafus it sounds like you had a great start to your vacation.

    1. It actually is a lot of fun. For adults included. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ The kids were less enthusiastic about sharing their net with me. Haha
