30A Beach Vacation 2022: Part 2

This is the second part of our one week beach vacation this year to 30a in Florida. We had such a wonderful trip, and the boys really enjoy the water and sand as much as we do! The first half of our trip post is HERE!

Here’s a look at our itinerary the second half of the trip:

  • Tuesday: Still beachin’. Dinner reservations at The Bay in the evening
  • Wednesday: Another beach day! Pack sandwiches for lunch, nap under umbrellas. Make spaghetti at home for dinner.
  • Thursday: Boys finally needed a beach break. Head into Destin for running around a playground and outlet mall shopping. Hit up Shunk Gulley for lunch on the way home. Sunset pictures on the beach and more crab hunting after dark
  • Friday: Back to the beach! Sandwiches packed. Head into Seaside for the evening for shopping at Duckies toystore, Sundog books, and dinner from Wild Bill’s Beach Dogs. Enjoy the movie in the Seaside ampitheater showing that night: The Incredibles.
  • Saturday: Pack up the house and head home!

One of my favorite things about this trip was how excited Jonathan was about swimming. He’s constantly yell at us, “I GO SWIM!” And then would proceed to leisurely float on his back for forever in the ocean. It was ADORABLE. Such a happy little guy.

30A Beach Vacation 2022: Part 1

That title is a mouthful. 30A is an area between Destin and Panama City in Florida that Nathan’s family has visited for years. And I eagerly adopted as a favorite vacation spot after joining their family. 🙂 This is my third trip to 30A. We always have so much fun! But we definitely missed having friends and family there with us this year.

We stayed in the same beach house rental that we did last year. In 2021, we went to the beach with my sister and her family, and absolutely loved the proximity to the beach and Seaside, one of our favorite beach towns, so we opted for the same house again!

Our Itinerary for the first part of the trip was:

  • Saturday: Arrive in Panama City. Lauren grocery shop while the boys nap. 5:45 reservation at Great Southern in Seaside
  • Sunday: Beach day! Pack sandwiches and spend the day at the beach, and the pool in the afternoon. Tacos and Mexican Rice for dinner at home!
  • Monday: Beach day again! Same plan as previous day. Order pizza to the house for dinner, and crab hunting after dark!

I’m going to share a whole bunch of pictures!

I think we’ve perfected getting all of our stuff to the airport and parking the car….

Ready to get on the airplane!

Our Beach Packing List

We’re going back to one of our favorite places, the BEACH, so soon! And to prepare for that, I’m sharing our beach packing list! It’s also my way of forcing myself to make our packing list, so I feel a lot less stressed. I’m also sharing our list as a PDF printable as well at the end!

Nathan made an impulse purchase years ago for this bluetooth speaker, and it’s held up so well for years. The sound is amazing, holds a charge for a really long time. It just works really, really well!

We throw this beach blanket that folds up into a tiny pouch in our suitcase each trip. It’s a good place for the kids to be able to sit and have lunch at the beach, and then just shake off the sand at the end of the day to go home.

This beauty has been our travel stroller since Harrison was a baby. It maneuvers easily, it’s lightweight, and I don’t care at all if it gets beat up by airline baggage claim.

Ok – if you need a jump start on your own beach packing list, you can download my list here!

Our Trip to 30A 2021: Part 3

I’ve shared the first two part of our Beach Trip to Florida’s northwest beaches Here and Here. Today, I’m sharing the final couple of days of our trip. After a half a week at the beach, we were really getting into our stride and never wanted to leave. 😊

After the morning in Seaside with the kids, we opted for the beach in the afternoon and a beach picnic to round out the day! It was so fun to go to the beach with the kiddos at a different time this day, and they thought it was too fun to have pizza delivered on the beach.

Our Trip to 30A 2021: Part 2

You know I have more beach pictures for you all. This is my equivalent of a scrapbook, after all, and we had so much fun at the beach with our boys a couple of weeks ago. Every morning I wake up wanting to go back! The weather, the house, the company and food were all so so so good. If you missed Part 1 of my recap, go back and check it out HERE.

Today is part 2.

After two days at the beach, we didn’t want to do a full beach day, so instead, we went down to the beach for an hour in the morning with the kids.

Our Trip to 30A 2021: Part 1

We finally took our first big vacation as a family of four. We headed down to Florida’s northwest beaches, “30a” for a week of sand, sun, and so many memories. We had THE BEST time. It was long awaited, and on our very last day, Harrison woke up and said, “I’m going to miss the beach.” Sounds like we’ll be taking our little beach babies back!

Ready for take-off! First time on a plane for me in 22 months!

Our Trip to Charleston

A Travel Diary

This time last week, my sister and I were getting home from a fun girls trip to Isle of Palms and Charleston! This was my second time to Charleston, and I absolutely did not regret going back for round two. There is something about this city with its window boxes, cute houses and alleyways, and the BEST FOOD, that has me all sorts of wrapped around its Southern little finger.

Yesterday, I talked all things Isle of Palms, and today we’re talking Charleston!

Isle of Palms

A Travel Diary

I’m just going to be upfront about it. I inadvertently took a hiatus last week. Like a ‘life got in the way, and I didn’t have the time to write the posts I had planned’ kind of week. I can’t imagine it will be the last, but I’m so happy to be back sharing a bit about my trip to Charleston and Isle of Palms that I took with my sister!

Blue Mountain Beach Vacation Recap

Blue Mountain Beach Vacation Recap

Our little family hasn’t shied away from vacations this summer. We are making up for lost time jetsetting the country after forgoing most vacations during my pregnancy and Harrison’s first year of life. This time we headed south to Blue Mountain Beach with Nathan’s family for a week of being beach bums.
