If you’re new around here, every once in awhile I like to round up seven quick things that are making me laugh or melting my heart about Harrison. I imagine someday I’m going to have to start doing seven quick takes for Jonathan, but for now, he’s all sweetness, coos, and baby talk.
I love these posts and going back to read them because it’s an easy way that I can memorialize these small little bits of his personality as he grows.
-1- When Harrison greets us in the morning, including his baby brother, he says, “Nice to meet you, Jonathan!” Makes me die laughing every time. Nice to meet you too, Harrison. I’ve known you your whole life, but it’s a pleasure to meet you again this morning.
-2- “We watch a little bit of Daniel Tiger?” “We watch a little bit of Toy Story?”
-3- His absolute enthusiasm for chores. I wish I could keep this kid as excited about chores his whole life. Taking out the trash! He loves to exclaim things “Oh NO! Big mess! I’ve got to get the vacuum!”
-4- The other day we sat on the porch and sang/screamed “Let it Go!” to each other in a way that only a former theater kid could truly fully appreciate, as I did. I’ve never been so proud.
-5- Speaking of Frozen, one of his favorite things to tell us now is that he’s “going to Arendelle.” (That’s where Frozen is set, for those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of watching Frozen multiple times a week for the past three months.)
-6- One of Harrison’s favorite games to play right now is to take the “trash” (aka puzzle pieces) to the LANDFILL. He got a play trash truck from his Mimi and Papa, and he loves to dump the trash into the landfill. I’m sure his teachers at school are very impressed that Harrison has a fascination with trash and landfills.
-7- While Harrison was home full time with us, he realized that he fit perfectly into the bottom dresser drawer in his room. One “nap time,” I glanced down at the baby monitor to see if he had fallen asleep yet, only to find that I didn’t see him anywhere in his room. I ran upstairs, searched under the covers, in the closet. And then the bottom drawer of the dresser rolled out with Harrison smiling as wide as could be inside. It was a moment that I wish I could have caught on camera. (No worries folks – the dresser is attached to the wall.)
And one extra…
-8- When I’m tucking him in at night, he’s started asking me, “Mommy, you want to cuddle?” Any single chance I get to hold you tight, I’m going to take, little boy. You are my heart on two feet.
“Nice to meet you” 😂so cute. I always loved when my kids used to talk in 3rd person. “Hayden wants to hold you…” meaning Hayden wanted me to hold him 😂such a sweet time
Awwww. I love that too. Harrison just recently stopped referring to himself in the third person, and I already miss it.
