Nathan & I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary by taking a long weekend getaway to one of our favorite cities: NYC. This was our third time to go to the city together, although, Nathan goes often for work. It was a wonderful four days getting to lay around in bed in the morning not watching Elmo, do some things in the city that we’ve never done before, and see some shows! I saved down my favorite clips from the vacation on my Instagram Highlights.
I’m breaking up our NYC trip into two parts: Eat & Drink, and Play & Stay tomorrow!
Joe’s Pizza (Greenwich) || Ya’ll. We have found our NY pizza. Kevin Bacon said that he wanted his last meal on Earth to be a slice from Joe’s, and after grabbing a slice…three separate times on our trip (YES! THREE!), we totally agree. It is the perfect, quintessential New York slice. Simple. Crisp, yet soft. Incredible. Nathan and I both agreed that this pizza was ‘go out of your way’ good.
Chow House (Greenwich) || The second place that equaled the same adoration as Joe’s was Chow House. All of the food at Chow House was incredible, but the dumplings were INSANE. My mouth is watering right now thinking about how incredible they were.
Juliana’s Pizza (Brooklyn) || Started by a Grimaldi (also a famous NY pizza shop), this cute little restaurant serves up slightly fancier NY pizza in the heart of Brooklyn. Plan to wait in the line that queues outside on any night of the week.
Momofuku Noodle Bar (East Village & Columbus Circle) || This David Chang restaurant serves up incredible noodles and appetizers in a tiny, quaint shop, where most of the patrons sit at the bar.
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer (Midtown) || Needing a late night milkshake fix? Head to Black Tap for a crazy shake that Instagram worthy works of art, and they taste delicious too!
The Doughtnut Project (West Village & Greenwich) || The cutest little doughnut shop with lots of creative and unique doughnuts! Like sweet potato cinnamon roll doughnut for the Thanksgiving holiday. So yummy and delicious!
Of course, I need to mention that I think it’s a crime to go to New York and miss out on a classic New York bagel and schmear. Just google bagels, and truly you can’t wrong!
