Are you as interested in Day in the Life posts as I am? There’s something about getting a peak into someone’s everyday life that satisfies the same piece of me that adores reality TV. (Yes….I know reality TV isn’t actually real. But I love it all the same.) So how about I take you along for a typical spring Saturday with the Lanes?
6:30 and I’m up laying in bed on this Saturday morning scrolling my Instagram feed. I turn off all alarms on the weekends. My tiny humans are alarm enough. When they were babies for about the first year of their lives, I kept my 7am alarm everyday to make sure they were up on and on a good schedule. Nowadays, their little bodies wake them up about 7am anyways.
7:03 am :: My 7:00 alarm clock is up!
7:06 am :: He asks to sweep the floor as his morning play activity. Have at it, child.
7:25 am :: Oatmeal is served to the littlest for breakfast with a side of yogurt. Jonathan’s on a real oatmeal kick nowadays.
7:42 am :: The oldest is up! Good morning hugs from Harrison boy.
8:04 am :: Breakfast is served to the oldest and I go to get ready, and listen to some of my current audiobook. (It’s good, in case you were wondering. π )
8:24 am :: Dressed and ready to chase kids and for a soccer game morning!
8:34 am :: Play with the boys in the playroom for a bit. Harrison watches an episode of Mickey Mouse Roadster Racers.
9:29 am :: Morning snack! Blueberries…and I’m sure I served something else as well, but I can’t remember now.
10:17 am :: Nathan and I split up for errands. Nathan takes Jonathan, and I take Harrison for a grocery store run and to the toy store to pick out birthday gifts for his friends who are having birthdays coming up. Our town square is having a special event with the Easter Bunny visiting, and all of the shops have little displays and kid activities out front…including bubbles!
10:23 am :: Choosing just WHICH car is best for his friend.
11:16 am :: Back home and reunited with our other half of the fam for some soccer and play time outside before lunch!
11:17 am :: Uniform on and SO EXCITED for his first game this season!
11:50 am :: Game time!
12:08 pm :: And toddler entertainment
1:19 pm :: Documentation by Baby J. Gave him my phone to try to keep him awake during normal naptime until we got home!
1:49 pm :: Littlest down for afternoon nap. Followed by the Harrison’s quiet time.
3:02 pm :: Wandering the garden and doing small maintenance things for spring
3:39 pm :: Harrison is up and eager to watch some of the Masters with Dad!
4:49 pm :: Headed over to Mimi and Papa’s for an April birthday celebration with the cousins!
6:06 pm :: Presents! The coolest quilt made by my Aunt Jeannie including a parking garage for his matchbox cars. He loves it! Tucks his cars into bed each night.
6:30 pm :: Happy birthday, Harrison! And Papa and Uncle Spence! We have a lot of April birthdays.
6:37 pm :: Most eager cake and ice cream eater
6:49 pm :: When we told them it was time to leave Mimi and Papa’s house. All the sad faces.
7:44 pm :: Jonathan down for bedtime after a much needed bath!
7:50 pm: Harrison down for bed!
And the parents collapse and I pass out at a very reasonable 9:30 pm on a busy Saturday with my boys.
That sounds like a lovely day in the life. I LOVE that quilt! What a fabulous gift.
Such a good gift! Harrison tucks his cars into the sewn in “parking garage” every night. π
I do love day in the life posts! So great to be outside for sports, ours start up this week π
It feels so good for things to feel mostly normal again! Especially sports. Thank goodness to have an outlet for all of the boys’ energy.
That quilt is the cutest!
So cute! She did a really beautiful job.
Love day in the life posts! What a fun and busy Saturday:(
π not sad face π¬
