Let’s Look At…A Typical Day
Typical day posts are some of my absolute favorites. I love getting the peak into what life looks like for other families. This is our first typical day post – and I was a little nervous that I would forget mid way through the day to take pictures. Luckily, we made it through the whole day – with full documentation. Not an easy task!
Today I’m linking up with Mix and Match Mama and A Little Bit of Everything to share what a Typical Day looks like in our house!
Our weekdays generally look like controlled chaos. Two adults, and one baby – not to mention, there’s a dog that requires some love and attention too. Here we go!
I’m usually up early – before the rest of the house. It’s the only time of the day that I found that I truly do not compromise because it’s before the chaos and demands of work, family, etc., set in.
Sawyer usually gets a quick belly rub – and then goes back to sleep
I try to spend a few of my precious early morning time doing quiet time and devotions. Setting my intentions and mindset for the day.
Then I’m off to Bar class at the Bar Method. I love this community – I started taking classes almost six years ago! Sometimes I think back on how long I’ve been coming to this studio, and all of the things that have changed in my personal life since then. Homes, marriage, baby…and still Bar was always a constant.
I head home, and then wake up my little guy. Good morning, Harrison!
Then I get Harrison’s breakfast ready and unload the dishwasher. Somehow find time to finish getting myself ready for work.
After getting ready, we’re headed out for daycare drop-off!
That smile! Then I spend the rest of the workday looking at this screen, and a rotating picture of my little guy.
This particular day, I had a lunch with a client. It’s always so nice getting out of the office to break up the day.
Then at the end of the day, after picking our little guy up, it’s time to make dinner.
While I cooked, Harrison decided to take a deeper look at what was inside my bag. He’s got an amazing ability to empty EVERYTHING out of my purse in less than 15 seconds flat.
After dinner, Nathan and I get Harrison ready for bed. Nathan is usually in charge of bath, but this night, I got to do bath while Nathan mowed. Then, my favorite part of the evening – story time, and quiet time rocking this guy to sleep.
After Harrison goes down, Nathan and I usually watch some TV. Sawyer finally gets some attention and love. Then it’s off to spend a bit of time reading, and finally sleep!
Next month, we’ll look at Favorite Binge Shows. A topic that was MADE for me. No doubt. Be sure to come back tomorrow for Part One recap of our Boston trip over the 4th of July!
I love getting up early and having a bit of quiet time to myself before all the kids wake.
Me too! It’s the only time of day that’s not competing with other priorities.
