Happy Friday! I’m so looking forward to this weekend and the temperature going below 100* for a change. We have been MELTING all week. It’s so miserably hot here. If it’s going to be this hot, I should be by a beach!
We’re officially closing out our first full week of school here, and it’s gone so well so far!
My Mother’s Day gift arrived this week. I asked Nathan for this necklace with the boys’ silhouettes as a Mother’s Day gift this year, and I’m completely blown away and so in love with this delicate little necklace. I’ve only taken it off to shower and work out since it got here!
I don’t know about you, but sometimes a mindset shift works wonders and something that used to frustrate you becomes one of your very favorite things each day. Every day, since Aidan moved to his nursery, I go to nurse him up there first thing in the morning when he wakes up. And every day, the boys come running in when their alarms go off to see me and Aidan.
Initially when this was happening, I was annoyed that the quiet time to nurse Aidan was gone and my two older crazies were running around his room and causing chaos. But I tried to shift my mindset to it being a blessing to get to be the first person they see when they woke up. To cherish how excited they were to come give me a hug and spend time together. And it’s made such a huge difference for me. I love this time now. I love seeing them each morning and how excited they are to start the day.
This kid has his father’s luck. We took the boys to the Royals game right before school started, and Harrison was going on and on about catching a ball. He brought his baseball mitt. I tried to hedge his expectations that it was very seldom you ever caught a ball during a game… in all of my years of going to baseball games, I had NEVER caught a foul ball.
And sure enough, he caught a foul ball. THIS CHILD HAS ALL THE LUCK.
Have you all seen these at your Costco?? They are SO good. The perfect morning bite with tons of protein. If you see these at your Costco, pick up a box!
And something that hit home this week. Are there still pencil sharpeners in school?! I don’t even know.
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
Yes! Anytime I was bored I would walk to the pencil sharpener; even if my pencils didn’t necessarily need sharpening! That necklace is so precious. My oldest son was like that and often got picked out of a crowd to participate in things on vacation– like the wand ceremony at Universal or dancing with a character at Disney. I don’t know where he got that luck from though.
How fun he caught a ball!! And how sweet are those little faces on your necklace, a treasure for sure.
You’re the second person who has mentioned changing their mindset and I really need to actively work on that!
In that morning picture are they both sitting on your legs????? So cute! They love their mama.
Ha yes! The need to be as close as possible. No matter what. 😂😍
So sweet!!!!
