This seems like the first real Friday of the fall to me. It’s a Friday the 13th too! Friday the 13th’s (is that even a word?) used to always kind of creep me out, but then God gave me Harrison on a Friday the 13th. I always think about that now when a Friday the 13th comes around. Maybe they’re just a little bit special and lucky in the Lane house thanks to a little munchkin who changed our lives on just such a Friday.

Our Black Hills trip was one of my favorites. I look forward to this week with my family every year. Watching another generation grow up in these Hills that I love is extra special. I’m blogging part 2 of our trip on Monday!

Our little man started at his new school this week, and he’s LOVING it! Fresh toys, an awesome teacher, and a beautiful new school. We feel so very blessed that he’s acclimating so well, and that he came home with a note from his teacher about how kind he was being to all of his new friends. You know that kind of stuff just fills up a mama’s heart. And Nathan and I are enjoying it even more with the healthy snacks they are getting my kid to eat, and it being on the way to work for BOTH of us! 🙂

The first day of school was followed by the first of hopefully many coffee dates with my guy after drop-off. Uninterrupted time to talk fills me up. Only made better by really good coffee.

I shared some of my go-to fall transitional pieces yesterday. I keep reaching for these same things over and over again as we bear with the last few weeks of summer-weather in a fall state of mind.

Nathan and I got away for a little bit last night to go to Thomas Rhett’s concert! Definitely a favorite, and a great way to start the weekend!
