Before we get to today’s post, I wanted to share a family that I’ve been praying for lately, and want to ask that you pray for them as well. I don’t know this family personally, but for some reason was drawn to them. First, her beautiful pictures and writing, and then eventually, I followed along long enough to know a small bit of their story. Little Luna, Lindsay’s daughter, has undergone a bone marrow transfusion from her sister in hopes of her body reprogramming itself from slipping into leukemia. Lindsay, her mama, explains Luna’s health situation much more eloquently and completely on her Instagram page, but while things were looking good and her numbers were increasing as expected for a long while, about a week ago, her numbers started slipping. The doctors didn’t know why, and while they were talking not that long ago about discharge from the hospital to go home, they slipped so far that she had to be moved to the ICU and intubated. I don’t know why but I feel so connected to this family and little Luna. I feel like this is not the end the story even though they are at such a low point right now. And I’d just ask you to send some prayers for little Luna. And her mama. And daddy + sister. Here’s her Instagram:
In lighter topics, I thought I’d share some of my Amazon and Target purchases lately! You know, just after Prime Day, so perfect timing. 😆. Oh well. Prime Day overwhelms me, quite frankly. Anyone else? I bought nothing on Prime Day, and I feel totally ok about it.
DynaTrap has been my saving grace outside for many years. It traps yucky bugs like millers and mosquitos, and doesn’t attract beneficial bugs like butterflies and bees. I don’t like to use pesticides on our yard to control mosquitos because they’re harmful for a lot of beneficial bugs, and the last couple of years, our Dyntrap has worked wonderfully to make it enjoyable to be outside on our patio for most of the summer. We were due for a new one, as the fan on our trap broke at the end of last season.
One thing that drives me nuts is sitting down to watch a TV show after the kids go to bed in the summer, and a dang fly is zooming around the living room. I can’t enjoy my show with that stinking fly! So I invested in an inside DynaTrap this year to attract flies, gnats, and other yuckies that make their way into our house, and it’s done such a good job so far!
With Harrison playing soccer this spring, and wanting to go to the games to watch him, I knew we needed to invest in a travel white noise machine for baby J, so that he could nap during games. I’ve been so happy with this one! It lasts so long after being charged. I think I may even invest in an additional one for us to take while we travel!

I got a new car this past month! After ten years with my Toyota RAV4, we upgraded to a mid-size SUV, and I’m now back to full on attempting to keep it as clean as possible with little kids. 🤪. It meant investing in some back of the seat organizers, and seat protectors for under the car seats to keep the interior from little footprints. I’ve been so happy with them so far. The number of pockets on the back of the seat organizers is incredible. They’re going to be perfect to load up with games, toys, and Harrison’s iPad for our big road trip to South Dakota later this summer.
We also invested in a new dog bed for Sawyer. I ordered several, because I raised a princess puppy, and this one is by far her favorite.

I felt like I had read the same books over and over and over again to Harrison, so it was time to invest in some new books for our big boy! I picked out these three based on the reviews of each. So far, Harrison’s the biggest fan of Let’s Go For a Drive! Serious car phase over here.
What were your kids’ favorite books in preschool? I need some more suggestions!

In my opinion, Target clothes quality can be really hit or miss. These cute pink denim shorts, though, are a huge HIT. I love them. They’re comfy and hold their shape, and they’re pink! I’ve been wearing them every week since I got them, and for the price, well, it’s hard to beat.
Really cute, right? Every spring, I think I’m a girl who wears dresses and go on the hunt for summer dresses, but I’ve realized with little boys, I’m a shorts mom. Bending down, playing on the ground, running around after little boys – shorts are the only way to go. Even better, they are on sale for like $12 right now?! I ordered a pair of regular denim ones as well.
I also picked up recently a LEGO Duplo building board for Harrison. He’s gotten a couple of Lego Duplo sets, and I vividly remember spending SO LONG building things on my Duplo board with my sister. It provided us entertainment for years, so I’m hoping that’s the same for the boys! So far, we’ve built a lot of car washes. 😂
The new guava La Croix flavor is excellent, IMO. Perfect for summer.
I picked up some kids’ cold medicine too on the recommendation of a friend. You may remember, EVERYONE in the family passed around an awful head cold a few weeks back, and this medicine actually seemed to help Harrison’s nighttime coughing a lot so that he could get a good night’s sleep. I think they have to be 2 or older to use it, so baby J didn’t get the benefits of it.

I firmly believe that Target has the best swimsuits for little boys. They wash and wear so well, and IMO, their designs for boys are so cute and not all cheesy, which is my main complaint with a lot of other retailers. Baby J needed a smaller rash guard for a passed down swimsuit from Harrison, so I ordered this cute color to match his color locked trunks.
He also needed some more shorts for the summer. Harrison was a little bit older during the summer, so most of his hand-me-down shorts are too big for J. These were cute and super soft.
I told you about my love of L’Oreal Voluminous mascara the other day. Well the primer kicks it up to the next level of LOVE. So good!

Happy Tuesday, friends!
