Closet Transformation with Elfa

Almost a year ago, Nathan gifted me with the most perfect gift to date. Being a super organization lover, he gifted me a closet transformation with Elfa at the Container Store. This is no way sponsored. We paid for this transformation ourselves. I’m sharing this product today because I love it. And when it comes to a beautiful organization for a closet at a reasonable cost, Elfa does an amazing job.

When we were re-doing Harrison’s room in preparation for him to join us, I knew we needed the best use of space for his tiny closet. I loved the way it turned out. It maximized space, and drawers, and we can move bars around over time to grow with him. So when Nathan gifted me a new closet, I was so excited! The Container Store helps you design your space just the way you want it. Long hanging space, short hanging space, drawers of different sizes. I got my dream closet at a bargain price. If you’re looking at doing an Elfa organized space, the Container Store has an Elfa sale the month after Christmas – so even better, we got the whole space for a discount. That means that the sale is just around the corner! So if you’ve had a space you’ve been wanting to organize, now is the time!

The area of Kansas City where we live doesn’t have beautiful huge master closets. The houses are older, ours was built in 1962 when big closets just weren’t a thing. So it was really important to utilize all of the space, and to get things off of the floor.

Here’s what my closet looked like before:

I wasn’t a big fan of the brown color in here. This used to be the color of the entire master bedroom. Painting our master bedroom was the first big project we undertook when we moved into our house five years ago, but this closet has remained a reminder of the old color.

I wanted the inside of my closet to match the rest of our room because my closet door is usually open and visible when you walk through our bedroom.

AND HERE ARE THE AFTER PICS!

My closet designer at the Container Store suggested making a shoe gallery as a focal point from the entrance of the closet. I was a big skeptical not being a big shoe person myself, but they were totally right. It’s a beautiful way be welcomed into this space every morning.

Short hanging space is separated by short sleeved, jackets, and long sleeves.

Long hanging space along the other wall for work clothes, dresses, and jeans

I used to be obsessed with stuffed animals. They lined my entire room as a kid. Am I the only one that has kept some into adulthood? These are particularly special to me as they are from certain family members at particularly meaningful points in my life. I also have a few letters/notes that were super special to me sitting here too when I need an extra pick-me-up. Notes from Nathan, one from my sister from when she told me I was going to be an aunt for the first time. Just a special little space just for me.

Shelves for bag and purse storage

A light fixture change added a little more pretty-ness to this space.

I love that the drawers are inlaid with these baskets that you can easily remove to organize.

A beautiful little {{organized}} space. 🙂
