Dear Harrison, (v. II)

Sweet little boy. A year and a half since you came into our lives. This time last year we were going through so many new changes. You were going to daycare for the first time, and I was navigating the waters of going back to work full time. We’ve certainly found our routine, and our special times together.

Happy 18 Month Birthday, Harrison!

You are a sweet little joy in so many of our lives, little guy. You are eager to offer your toy, food, or lovey to a friend in need. You are constantly running around the house pointing and saying “uh-oh.” You’re playing pretend – pretend doctor’s office and pretend cooking and eating. The way that you’re starting to think things are SOOOOO FUNNY. Like calling me “Dada” over and over again. What we wouldn’t do for that laugh, though. The way that you are eager to find anyone’s belly. The look of joy and excitement on your face when your daddy comes home from a trip.

Your sweet little personality makes your daddy and I laugh a lot, but mostly, we’re just crazy proud of you. Of the little man we see you becoming right in front of our eyes. For your persistence (God – give us strength and patience), your goodness and kindness, your easy nature, and your deep heart.

Every time I write to you I think there is no way that I could love you more, but another month goes by, and I look back and realize that I love you even more than that. Happy 18 months, my little love.

Love,

Mommy

  1. I know I’ve said it before (and will surely say it AGAIN) but your words are always spot on. Keep on putting your beautiful thoughts on paper so the rest of us can enjoy them, too.
