Easter is not CANCELLED this year. I mean, it wasn’t cancelled last year, either, but it felt like it. We had our Easter outfit ready, brunch plans, and BAM. COVID. Easter at home. I remember Easter well because none of us changed out of our pajamas last year, and I thought to myself, “Well this is going to make for some really memorable pictures.” See…
Mom forgot to buy an Easter basket, so Harrison collected eggs in Dad’s baseball cap. And we literally looked like this alllll day. But this year, I’m ready. I’ve got the treats, I’ve got the baskets, and even better, we’re going to be able to see my parents for an Easter egg hunt because #covidvaccine!
The Easter bunny is going to head to our house with Easter baskets this year! Target had an adorable selection:
Easter baskets are going to be full of fun goodies for spring and summer! Some things that the Easter bunny may be considering slipping into their Easter baskets this year…
Harrison has been talking about an umbrella for months. I think he’s going to love it given his adoration for jumping in muddy puddles. Some other things that the Easter bunny may throw in are Scotch tape, small play construction vehicles, and new Native water shoes.
Jonathan’s goodies are going to be a little more practical…
Each year, I look forward even more to holidays with the boys. Watching their excitement and joy makes it so much fun! We’re planning for church online, a homemade brunch, and Easter baskets and Easter egg hunt with the cousins!
What are your Easter traditions?
Our church will be open for the first time in over a year on Easter…with reservations. I’m excited we will be able to go in person this year. Hadley just asked if we’d still dye eggs like we usually do, and we will. I remember dyeing eggs as a teenager…I won’t quit that tradition with my kids 😂
I completely forgot about dying eggs! I used to love that as a kid. I’m going to have to search for an egg dying kit now for Harrison. I’m really looking forward to in-person worship in the very near future. Particularly kids’ Sunday School so I can actually pay attention to the sermon. Hahaha.
