Friday Favorites {10.18.19}

Today is our fifth anniversary!

I wrote a little post reflecting on what I’ve learned in our first five years of marriage yesterday here. We’re going out tonight to celebrate, but our real celebration is a trip away just the two of us in about a month. It’s going to be so much fun, while also missing my little man like crazy. But I think it’s so important to have one on one time with your partner, so I’m really looking forward to a few days away with my guy. Having no agenda, eating amazing food, and just soaking up good conversations and dreaming with him.

But, today is a FRIDAY FAVORITES post! A couple of weeks ago, Harrison helped me plant up my fall plants. So I wanted to give you a little tour of our outdoors right now, decked out in some fall decor! I love some fresh plants and pumpkins to give our house a refresh come September and October. I don’t go as overboard in the fall as I do for the summer with plants. I just do a few things here and there, so it’s totally manageable and easy to do.

The front of our house is where I always crave ALL the mums.

This red mum is about to burst open in gorgeous color. You can see just a few of them really starting to open up on top.

And these little pumpkin and gourds sit beside our mailbox with an awesome little mum on our steps.

This mum’s color is called pumpkin pie. It’s got a bit of yellow and, of course, orange. So cool! I get a little lazy in the fall, and I don’t repot the mums into the containers. I literally pop them into a pot in their plastic container that they came in, and call it a day. Easy clean up in the winter when they are done blooming!

And the backyard, has a few more pots and pumpkins.

A couple of pots with yellow and purple pansies, accented by pumpkins!

This was Harrison’s favorite pot to help me plant. He’d take some potting soil out of the bag and put it into the pot. Then take it out of the pot. Then brush it all over the patio. So much help! But the cutest kind of help. It’s full of yellow and purple pansies, but the pansies take a few weeks to root and start blooming. This will be really gorgeous all of November and full of blooms with our cooler weather now.

I only did one big pot for the fall and this is it. The pansies are starting to bloom and I LOVE the way the purples, yellows, greens and the orange pumpkin all play so well together.

So, it’s not outside. But what is the fall without bringing some pumpkins and gourds inside?

Hope this puts you in a wonderful fall mood headed into the weekend! We’re having a full weekend of pumpkin patchin’, hitting up two different patches! One today, and one tomorrow! Can’t wait to get outside with my family and enjoy some fun!

I’m going to be back here on Tuesday talking about joining the Mommy-hood, and what that’s been like for me. I’ve had so many friends, myself included before having Harrison, who have told me that they’re scared about joining the mommy-hood because it seems so judgy and catty. So, I wanted to share what I’ve found about the mommy-community since having Harrison. Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here next week!
