Friday Favorites 10.22.21

I had the realization this week, as I worked through scheduling end of the year doctor appointments and PTO for work, that the holidays are coming super fast. Halloween is next weekend. Thanksgiving only a few weeks after that. And then apparently we need to already have our Christmas shopping done because nothing is going to show up on time if we wait until December. I’m sure that’s partially true…but does anyone else wonder how much we should ACTUALLY be concerned versus how much is a bit overstated?

A little bit of home decor, a lot a bit of babies, and some food for your Friday Favorites this week! Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

All of the Halloween and fall decor is making my days so happy! I shared a full tour of our home decorated for fall and Halloween earlier this week!

Harrison’s most favorite decoration, though, is without a doubt this motion activated skeleton. He loves spooking people.

Baby J moved up classes after we got back from our beach trip. He’s officially in the toddler room, and both Nathan and I see a difference in how he interacts with us and the world around him now. It’s like all he needed was to be in a class where he was treated like a big kid for him to really blossom and start to explore and want to do things on his own.

Not to mention, he’s loving all of the outdoor time that he gets in the bigger kid class!

I took the boys to ‘the Farmstead’ by myself a couple of weeks ago. I had so much fun getting to spend one on one time with these boys. It was tiring, but such a good kind of tiring. The quality time with them makes it so special.

Jonathan in particular was enamored with being able to pet the goats. I ran around after him all over the pen. He insisted on petting every one.

We finally scheduled a real date night in Kansas City to celebrate our anniversary! We had so much fun! (Thanks, Aunt Ashton for babysitting!)

If you don’t have this seasonal pasta sauce in your pantry right now, add it to your Trader Joe’s list stat. It is soooo good. So good that I bought five.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I love the boys in their Chiefs gear. Yay! for a date night. I agree about all the craziness in regards to Christmas gifts already. This time of the year always stresses me out and all of that talk is adding to it

  2. The only stuff I’m buying ahead of time is the stuff I need to ship to family across the country. Otherwise I’m fairly confident that everything will be OK. I haven’t noticed much difference in any of my shipping yet… and it seems like everyone is ordering lots of things still as opposed to shopping in person. Yay for date night!
