One last blog post this year. I thought about doing a recap of our year, but I think like pretty much every single person, our recap would look like “here’s a picture of us staying home in March! And here’s one of us staying home in April!”
And truly the brightest spot of our year was adding our little Jonathan to the family. I’ve grieved a lot that this birth was not the way we expected because of COVID. Our family couldn’t be there to surround us. We still have family members who live near us that haven’t met our little guy yet in person.
But this year DID give me the chance to have more time with my own little family than ever before. More time than any vacation would have given us. More time than I will likely ever get again. It forced us to survive as a little unit of three. Then four. And I have to say, I love my little unit of four more than anything. I think they’re just about the coolest people in the whole world.
My three boys are everything I need. They are bright lights in what feels like an overwhelming sea of darkness sometimes.
While I’m hoping that 2021 brings us a turn to the end of this terrible pandemic, I will cherish the time I’ve had with my little crazies in the midst of all of this.
Merry Christmas to you all, and the happiest of new year’s. I’ll see you all back here in 2021.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Merry Christmas, friend!
