Pumpkins, chili on the stove simmering all day. Cozy sweaters and warm blankets. The constant drone of football on the TV, and the scent of vanilla and cinnamon in the air. Oh fall, you can be such a wonderful and magical time of year to cozy up and enjoy family.
I truly love fall. A lot of wonderful things have happened in our lives during the fall – Nathan and I get engaged in the fall, and married in the fall. I have wonderful memories of when Nathan and I first started dating doing fall time activities, and I love the coziness of autumn.
With a little one year old who is starting to enjoy more and more activities, I’m really looking forward to seeing how he takes on this new season! Here’s what’s on the Lane’s fall bucket list:
- Decorate for fall! Inside and out – give me all the mums this time of year!
- Go pumpkin picking! We haven’t really found our go-to “patch” yet, so we’re on the hunt for a place we can make our fall tradition!
- Introduce Harrison to the magical world of Louisburg hot apple cider donuts and apple cider. YUM.
- Make chili and cornbread
- Take lots of walks with Sawyer around the neighborhood
- Play at the park!
- Buy all the Bath & Body Works fall candles. I’m only kind of kidding… 🙂
- Carve a pumpkin!
- Go trick-or-treating for the first time!
- Crunch fallen leaves
- Watch the Chiefs beat the Broncos 😉 {Cue Nathan’s huge eye roll}
- Have a family movie night with hot chocolate
- Introduce Harrison to his first taste of candy!
- Eat ALL the stuffing at Thanksgiving
- Take family pictures
- Bake pumpkin bread
- Pumpkin Spice Latte it – early and often!
- Leave the windows open on a beautiful fall day
- Enjoy a glass of wine on the patio after Harrison goes to bed
What are you looking forward to this fall?
Published as part of a link up with A Little Bit of Emily.
That sounds wonderful! I never really enjoyed stuffing at Thanksgiving until I was an adult and now it is one of my favorite side dishes.
Ooh, pumpkin bread sounds like a great idea!! Do you have a good recipe?
Yes I have a recipe I really love! I’ll share soon!
Ohh, I hope to have many a nights on the deck with a glass of wine, too. And your warm apple donuts and cider sound heavenly right now. My SIL made a drink where it was apple cider and fireball – let me tell you, that warms you up real quick! Thank you for linking up – happy fall!
I’m looking to find the perfect pumpkin bread recipe! What I made last year was okay, but it just didn’t wow me. I plan on practicing this season!
