You know I have more beach pictures for you all. This is my equivalent of a scrapbook, after all, and we had so much fun at the beach with our boys a couple of weeks ago. Every morning I wake up wanting to go back! The weather, the house, the company and food were all so so so good. If you missed Part 1 of my recap, go back and check it out HERE.
Today is part 2.
After two days at the beach, we didn’t want to do a full beach day, so instead, we went down to the beach for an hour in the morning with the kids.
And then we thought it would be fun to bike to neighboring beach town for lunch. Big mistake. Here is the only before picture I have…
Google Maps said it was only a 20 minute ride…..45 minutes later, we rolled into Rosemary Beach sweaty, crazy hungry, dehydrated, and bumping right into naptime for all of the kids. God help us all. The kids were champs. We got lunch and rode back to our house for a much deserved nap.
And our big boy decided that because it wasn’t his little legs doing all of the peddling that he didn’t need to nap, so Nathan took him for a ride in the Mustang.
That evening was supposed to be our date night, but we were so exhausted that we audibled and moved it to a different night. Mac and cheese for the kids, and attempting to drain lactic acid from our legs in the evening. 😂
The next morning, Nathan and my brother in law, Spencer, took the kids and my sister and I got a whole day of doing exactly what we wanted without serving a single soul. (And all the other mamas said, ‘Amen.’). So, we opted for a beach day sans kiddos.
And lunch in Seaside…
And the kids went to the nature park with the guys…
That evening, we hauled everyone down to the beach for family pictures (for our Christmas card, of course!). Here’s a couple that didn’t make the cut…
All the boy cousins…
And Nathan and I headed out on our date night…We went to Pescado in Rosemary Beach and sat on their rooftop.
So good! And then picked up dessert to bring home to share.
The next morning, it was the dads’ turn to get a day off. Kendra and I took the kids, and headed back into Seaside to explore. A trip to Sundog bookstore, grilled cheese from the Meltdown, an epic toy store trip to Duckies, and ending the afternoon with more shaved ice from Frostbites before heading home for naps.
Throwing rocks is an approved one year old activity.
Happy kids with grilled cheese for lunch!
Shaved ice to round out the day!
That’s all for today! I’ll share Part 3 of our trip in a bit!
I love that you all took the time to rotate date nights and girls / guys day. That boy cousin photo is everything. So sweet!
It’s always nice when the kids are so young to be able to get some time away to just so grown up things. 😊 Also, I’m so jealous that you guys can drive to 30A! That sounds soooo nice!
