We spent a week over Labor Day up in the Black Hills at my parents’ cabin. The Black Hills are near to my heart – they have always been my family’s “place.” My grandparents lived in South Dakota my entire life, so Kendra and I spent at least one week every year back up in the Hills visiting grandparents.
Last week, I blogged Part 1 of our trip to the Hills this year. So, today I’m sharing even more pictures from the latter half of our trip.
Same as last week, I’ll tag any places that may be of interest to you, but for the most part, we don’t really feel like tourists in the Hills, so we rarely do “tourist-y” things. (Also: all of the really amazing high quality pictures are courtesy of my brother-in-law, Spencer)
We went to the fish hatchery to feed the fishes and duckies. We went to the fish hatchery with the kids last year, so it was so interesting to see Harrison really start to get it this year. Feeding the fish was a HUGE hit with little man.
We made a fort out of the kitchen table. Running around and around the house and diving into their fort led to big smiles. 🙂
Sometimes you end up falling into the toy bin to get the best toys.
Evie and Harrison ran down this hill by Mimi and Papa’s cabin no less than 20 times. That’s one way to wear out the kiddos.
Feeding the deer with his favorite shovel
Our very last day in South Dakota was full of family pictures, a hearty breakfast, and a walk through Spearfish Canyon.
The aspens are starting to turn – fall is in the air in South Dakota!
We have to work with Harrison on smiling for pictures. The antics of trying to get this guy to smile clearly didn’t work. But they’re still super cute!
We take this picture in front of the cabin every year.
Here’s 2018:
Another wonderful trip to the Hills in the books!
Love reliving your trip through the blog. ❤️
