I haven’t done a What’s Up Wednesday since February. I was literally working on this post the day that I went into labor with Aidan….and it never got posted. So I’m particularly excited to share a bit of what’s been going on in our lives lately!
As always, I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share with you what’s going on in our life!
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK: I’m making two of our favorite Half Baked Harvest recipes. One is the Lemon Butter Chicken Piccata. I serve it with mashed potatoes or rice depending on what I have on hand. The other is the Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta with Whipped Ricotta. I add a a protein like shredded chicken or crumbled Italian sausage to boost the fullness of it.
2: WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Baby J a year ago in my Timehop is killing me lately. Just mind blowing how his language has increased 10 fold from a year ago. And all of the cute things he would say to us this time a year ago.

That little blondie! And some of the videos…how he’d always say, “Oh gosh!” It has my mama heart just melting.
3. WHAT I’M LOVING: I have finally reached it. The part of maternity leave where I’m not so ridiculously exhausted and overwhelmed, and I’m actually enjoying the time with my little guy each day. I feel really blessed to work for a company that offers such a long family leave.

Also, I’m loving the gift we gave Nathan for Father’s Day to go with his new grill.

How stinking cute is this melamine grilling plate with the boys’ handprints??? I know both Nathan and I will love it for many years to come.
4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Aidan and I visited my parents at the beginning of the month at their cabin.

Aside from that trip, we’ve just been doing a lot of hanging around the house doing summer things.

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:
Packing…We’re about to head back to my parents’ cabin with the whole family. We’re driving this time. I’m praying that everything fits in our car, and that we have a safe drive there and home!
6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Remodel planning. I think we’re finally going to pull the trigger on a kitchen remodel. Nathan and I have been working on floor plans and researching costs.
For those of you who have lived through a kitchen remodel with kids, please send me your best tips!!
7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Time with my sister’s family and parents at the cabin!

These cousins love each other!
8. WHAT I’M WATCHING & READING:
What haven’t I watched lately…most recently I finished watching the Duggar family docuseries on Amazon Prime.

I watched the Duggar reality show for many years. I found the docu-series super interesting and well done.
And I posted my June book review yesterday!

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: Currently I’m listening to the whir of the air conditioner trying to keep up with the Kansas heat this time of year.
10. WHAT I’M WEARING: Athleisure. All day, every day.
11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND: We’re heading up to my parents’ cabin in the Black Hills!
12: FAVORITE AMAZON FIND THIS MONTH:
I’m giving up on having socks that only have one match for the boys.

I ordered these socks for Jonathan and Harrison (two different colors so I could tell the boys apart), and I’m seriously impressed with the quality. Making laundry day easier!
13. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH: Somehow, it’s going to be July, and I feel like summer just started. But I’m looking forward to our trip to the Hills and then a little a weekend trip with friends down to the lake!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
I love that grilling plate! What a fabulous idea. I hope you have a safe and super fun trip!
I started watching Shiny Happy People too! Safe travels. I hope everyone has a great trip 🙂
I was always shocked by how calm everyone was at all times in that family. Like nobody was ever mad, annoyed or upset. The docuseries was so interesting.
