What’s Up Wednesday {07.29.20}

As I’m writing this over the weekend, we’re still waiting on a little boy to make his appearance. Harrison was exactly two days late….so we’re hoping between the rainy weather change and the fact that Harrison was a few days late, that we’re going to be having a baby sometime this week. I’m writing this listening to THE NEW TAYLOR SWIFT ALBUM. What a happy little surprise that she decided to drop a new album to brighten up quarantine and welcome the newest Lane to the family. 🙂

I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share with you what’s going on in our life lately!

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

  • Sunday: Marinated flank steak with chimichurri and roasted red potatoes
  • Monday: Leftovers
  • Tuesday: Jambalaya
  • Wednesday: Leftovers
  • Thursday: No idea….
  • Friday: Still no idea… surely there will be a baby by Friday

2: WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

Hot is the understatement of the century for the weather in Kansas City right now. And I’m missing the pool. Public pools are closed in most of the metro right now, and when it’s this hot out, I miss them and having someplace to take Harrison to cool off a bit.

3. WHAT I’M LOVING:

Most of July, I feel like I’m battling one garden pest after another. Starting around the Fourth of July, there’s Japanese Beetles, stink bug larvae, sawfly larvae, budworms…and it just feels like I’m constantly picking something off of my plants. But by the end of July, it starts to slow down, and while the hot weather takes over, I think there are elements of the garden that look particularly beautiful. Things have filled in, and just look full and lush.

4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Well, in case you missed it, we’ve been in quarantine for pretty much all of July in preparation for little man #2’s arrival. Harrison has been home. Nathan has been home. I’ve been home. We’ve been surviving. Primarily on regular trips to the ice cream shop. 🙂

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:

This was my answer last month and it’s still true! —–> Not sleeping. And juggling a 2 year old and a newborn at home.

Although, the universe has given me a taste of that not sleeping early. I haven’t slept much all month thanks to pregnancy insomnia. Please tell baby to come soon!

6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

I’m not working on much, aside from waiting on a baby. Holy moly. It’s like this post has a theme.

I have been doing a ton of research on robovacs. I talked on my Instagram last week about how with all of us being home ALL the time now, the speed at which our floors pick up dust, crumbs (so many crumbs, thanks Harrison!), dirt and leaves, I’m going crazy!

I think I’ve finally decided to pull the trigger, and get a Eufy.

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

I’m so excited to see how Harrison does as a big brother. What our family will look like as a family of four. I’m excited for newborn snuggles.

8. WHAT I’M WATCHING & READING:

I’m reading this book now, and while I’m not that far, I’m definitely taking a few good little nuggets of information from it about raising boys.

And we’ve been sucked in hardcare to Raising Jacob on AppleTV. As I’m writing this, we have one more episode left, and I’m so bummed it’s coming to an end, but can’t wait for Harrison to go to bed tonight to finish it!

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

Oh, hey Taylor……

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:

I’m still wearing the same gym shorts and tank tops over and over and over and over again. The rotation gets washed about every three days. That’s life at the end of pregnancy, though, right? Only three things fit me, and it’s too late to buy new clothes.

I am looking forward to Nordstrom’s anniversary sale in a couple of weeks, though! Excited to buy some new fall clothes!

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

Uhhhh….potentially still waiting to have a baby?

12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Getting to know our newest little one.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

    1. It was so good! We haven’t watched a show that good in a while where we were looking forward to the next episode when Harrison went down. 😊

  1. I hope your baby comes soon. With our first child, I was so chill about it but with our second baby I felt like I was ready for weeks before she came.

  2. I feel your pain! My oldest son was over a week and half late.. it was torture waiting for him to arrive. Wishing you a nice easy delivery.

    1. Ohhh my goodness. I can’t imagine a week and a half late! Every day feels like eternity right now!!
