Before I get into What’s Up Wednesday, I just wanted to thank you all for the support and love for me and little baby J yesterday, when I blogged about his plagiocephaly and baby helmet. Both here and on Instagram, there were just so many kind words. I’m so very thankful. It took me some time to process everything that was happening with Jonathan for myself, and then be ready to talk openly about it. I know, though, how much I appreciate others vulnerability in the less than perfect moments of life because of how much I learn from them. So, anyways, I just wanted to say, “Thanks!”
Ok – I love going back and reading these posts. A little window into what’s happening in our life at the Lanes lately. But somehow, my last What’s Up Wednesday was in October. I don’t know how, or what happened in life…but it’s high time to share a little Lane life.
I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share with you what’s going on in our life!
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
I don’t know how it happened, but I’ve got so many good leftovers in our fridge that we’re going to be eating leftovers pretty much all week. And a good thing too because this week is super busy for me at work.
- Sunday: Leftovers
- Monday: Leftovers
- Tuesday: Leftovers…or maybe Beef with Broccoli
- Wednesday: Leftovers
- Thursday: Pulled pork tacos from my parents!
- Friday: Carry out dinner
2: WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
A lot lately, I’ve curled up in Harrison’s bed putting him down for the night and told him stories about things he used to do when he was little.
Like how he would come into our bed Saturday morning, and jump right into the middle. He’d get himself all comfy cozy under the covers, and we’d watch Sesame Street. Lately, Harrison has loved hearing stories about things he did when he was younger.
Also, TODAY is our niece, Everly’s, fourth birthday! Happy birthday, cousin Evie! This was just last year…
And now she’s got her own sense of style. Have to say her style at four is more impressive than mine at 36.
I wish we could be eating sprinkle cake, running around your basement, and opening presents with you today!
3. WHAT I’M LOVING:
Working from home. The transition to the boys being in daycare together and going back to work has been so different being able to work from home. I talked all about my WFH set up HERE.
4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
I’ve been garden dreaming. It happens every January. I start dreaming about my spring garden, start looking for swimsuits for Harrison, contemplate swim lessons and soccer lessons.
We’ve played in the snow, including Harrison’s first time going sledding!
We’ve cheered our little guy on. Jumping, learning to roll, through his physical therapy exercises. (Sorry for the drool and snots….that’s just baby life in the middle of winter)
Jonathan’s been adjusting to life with his new helmet. I wrote about it HERE.
And we celebrated my 36th birthday…
5. WHAT I’M DREADING:
Another full month of busy season at work. There’s a lot to be done between now and the end of February!
6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Garden planning! I have a whole cart of zinnia seeds sitting in my virtual online cart. Just waiting for me to pull the trigger. The very last of my summer garden’s zinnias in September, and sweet baby cousin Holden in the picture below…
Also, just casually trying to pull the trigger on some art for our kitchen table area.
I love soooo many from Lindsay Letters Co. Now to just decide which ones…
7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Spring gardening….
My COVID vaccine….whenever that comes. Months from now, I’m sure.
And oh yeah…THE CHIEFS ARE GOING BACK TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!! ❤️💛
^^^ My favorite little Chiefs fan. ^^^
(Crunchy hair in that picture is courtesy of Wash Day. I’m going to do an updated curly girl method post very soon!)
8. WHAT I’M WATCHING & READING:
I’m reading Thomas Rhett’s wife, Lauren’s book…
Nathan and I are still cranking through Your Honor…
But we’re really excited about a new Summer House starting soon!
9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
I’m listening to Jonathan jumping in his jumparoo right now. It’s his FAVORITE.
10. WHAT I’M WEARING:
I live most of my winter in sweaters…
This cute top from Madewell is getting a lot of play lately…
And my Charlie Hustle KC Chiefs sweatshirt…
11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
A really big weekend of…NOTHING planned. #COVIDweekends
12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
I’m looking forward to Valentine’s Day, just having a little something to celebrate. Nathan’s birthday is in February, and Harrison is all aboard the Birthday Train after he got to celebrate mine this month. Although, he’s pretty sure it has to be HIS birthday next. 😊
Happy Wednesday, friends!
I am cheering for the Chiefs again this time around. I just don’t like Tom Brady and since my aunt lives in Kansas, it holds a special place in my heart. And now I want to get some zinnias. Those are just gorgeous!!!
It’s at least a good Super Bowl story line – the alleged greatest qb of all time versus the kid qb. ☺️ I’m hoping it’s an entertaining game!
