I’ve spent this week doing half days of work, and half days of working on our yard. Getting all of our hedges trimmed and re-mulched. It’s a task that I dread doing, but feel so accomplished at the end of it looking how nice everything looks re-mulched and trimmed back. Maybe a full May garden tour soon?
Somehow, I missed sharing any pictures of Harrison’s birthday. This little guy turned THREE over a month ago now! Because of a cancelled birthday party, and a wait until our COVID vaccines were fully effective, somehow we’ve been celebrating him for over a month. No one else I’d rather celebrate for so long!
WE HAVE ART HANGING NOW! I finally pulled the trigger to buy some pieces that I’d been drooling over for a year from Lindsay Letters Co.
We’ve walked over to the little shopping square near our house a couple of times the past few weeks with the beautiful weather, and enjoy dinner at an actual restaurant on the patio. No cleaning up a dirty kitchen afterward, someone bringing us food and drinks! Oh my. Amazing how delightful it feels after a year plus of not going to restaurants except for grabbing take out.
We took Harrison to his first Royals game!
We sat in our seats for only the first inning, when the Royals went down by 8 runs in the FIRST INNING 😳, and then wandered the stadium and snacked the rest of the time. Good thing that Harrison was more interested in the experience than the game. We had the BEST TIME being able to just focus on our oldest, and much thanks to my parents for watching baby J for us. The first time that someone other than mom put our little guy to bed.
You all knew it was going to be flower related, right? For the next few months, there will always be at least one flower favorite. This beautiful peony is called Coral Charm. I’ve waited three years for it to bloom. Planted it two years ago, and this is the first year it’s produced three gorgeous blooms. It was worth the wait. It starts off brighter pink, and fades to this pink and finally to a light pink as it blooms. Absolutely stunning.
And bonus, it looked perfect in my flowers from Mother’s Day!
Happy weekend, friends!
What a fun post! I love your new artwork! Beautiful. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers. I love the idea of sharing a favorite friday flower. (Say that five times fast haha!) Have a great weekend.
That peony is beautiful! I love them but have never seen that particular color/variety before.
