Oh my goodness. It has been a week. With deadlines at work, and Nathan traveling for work, we have just been surviving. Some weeks are like that, though, right? You just survive. But it’s one of my FAVORITE months of the year! October foggy mornings, crunchy leaves, and cool evenings.
Earlier this week, I wrote about some of the things that I wish I had known during my pregnancy. I tend to be a person who spends a lot of time on introspection. And man, I wish I had known then what I know now. I’m hopeful that if we are ever lucky enough to do this baby thing another time around, that maybe I give myself a bit more grace in the process. If you missed the post, I’d encourage you to go back and read, especially if you are a first time mama-to-be or have a friend in that stage of life now. Left you all a piece of my heart out there on the blogosphere.
FALL PLANTS HAVE ARRIVED AT THE LANE HOUSE!!! Ohhhhhhh. You guys know how much I love fresh new plants! And I am so excited to have some fall pots this year!! Not to mention huge beautiful colorful mums. Ugh. Plants just make. my. day.
Speaking of plants, you know what can change my entire day? Flowers from my husband. Or mom. Or mother-in-law. Or really anybody. Every time. But these beauties are from Nathan.
Oh fall…the one time of year that our rust colored kitchen looks good with the decorations in it.
You guys know how much I love my AllBirds . I tell literally every person I meet, it feels like, how much I LOVE these shoes. And I just got back from another vacation wearing these walking around ALL day in Charleston, and my feet felt like they could run a marathon at the end of the day. {To be clear, the rest of my body has no interest in this type of athletic endeavor. I’m sole-ly speaking to the condition of my feet. Do you see what I did there?}
There they are in Charleston…
…and Boston…
And I loved them so much, I bought this pair for the fall and winter…
And I can just HARDLY CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT for them to arrive!!!
The other night, we were hanging in the playroom, and I looked down to find both of my babies sitting by (or on) me, happily playing. It was one of those moments that what was so ordinary, but perfect.
And this little pup. Nobody has ever accused me of puppy neglect. Especially when it comes to making sure this little girl has an appropriate seasonal bandana. #spoiledpup #spoilthedognotthechildren
Happy October, friends!
Those flowers are beautiful! I often buy a few for myself at the grocery store.
Flowers always bring so much life and happiness inside! Thanks for reading!
The fall flowers look awesome. Can hardly wait to see the pots you assemble.
Waiting for my pansies to take root! Harrison was a huge help getting everything planted. 😂😊
