It’s the day of the month that I link up with two of my favorite blogs: Mix & Match Mama and A Little Bit of Everything to share a little peak into life at our house!
- In January, we looked at our bedside table
And today, we’re looking at our winter wardrobe! I’ll link anything that I post below that’s from the current season and still available. My winter wardrobe consists of workout clothes, sweaters, and more sweaters.
When I moved to Michigan for college many years ago, I went up north with a wardrobe fit for a central Midwest winter. I had no idea what I was in for with a Michigan winter on Lake Michigan. What I found out was that snow was at least a weekly thing. And not just any snow, lake effect snow. Temperatures were bitterly cold from November through a good part of March, and my central Midwest winter wardrobe of long sleeve t-shirts and a handful of sweaters just wasn’t cut out for Michigan winter.
So over four years, I added sweaters upon sweater to my winter wardrobe. And even now that I live back in Kansas City, 95% of the time during the winter, I reach in my closet for a sweater to throw on for the day. I like the fact that sweaters are simultaneously easy, and look a bit more put together than say a sweatshirt or a long sleeve t-shirt.
Here are some of my current closet favorites!

Cream Sweater || Bow Headband || Frye Melissa riding boots
This has been my favorite sweater this season. It hasn’t pilled or stretched out at all. One of my biggest gripes with a sweater is when the elbows stretch out after wearing it any length of time. But this cute, simple sweater is still in perfect condition even after being worn almost weekly 🙂

I bought this sweater at Nordstrom’s anniversary sale in July, and it’s sold out currently. I love that this one isn’t your typical “winter” colors. Sometimes you need a little color in a cold, grey day!
This is also I think the last time I was able to wear regular jeans with a Belly Band. I know so many people wear their regular jeans with a Belly Band for soooo long. My sister is one of those people. But I don’t know what it is about it, I just find it SUPER uncomfortable. I’d rather wear maternity jeans that are a little loose than squish myself into regular jeans. So, the maternity jeans came out a few weeks ago, and it’s all I’ve been wearing since that point in time.

This duster is from Talbots, and my mom gifted it to me for my birthday literally two weeks ago, and it’s already sold out!
This is another really common look I grab in the winter. I throw on a short sleeve shirt and pair it with a long sweater cardigan on top for winter. It makes my summer wardrobe last all year long.

I finally got to wear this dress for Nathan’s company holiday party a few weeks ago. I sized up to better cover the growing bump.

I usually spend all weekend in athletic gear. With more and more clothes getting a little too tight, this is usually just more comfortable and easier to chase around a toddler!
