A few weeks ago, we packed up the kids and took off for a quick roadtrip up the highway from Kansas City to Omaha for the weekend. It’s an easy drive for us, so the perfect change of scenery for a weekend away with the boys. We were only there for two nights, but we had so much fun getting to just focus on our family and the boys. As is so often at home, there are competing priorities and things that need to be done. It was so nice to put that to the side for a few days and focus on my favorite things in life: my boys.

We met some friends who live in Omaha for drinks that evening.
And then we took the boys to an Omaha Storm Chasers game, who is the Kansas City Royals minor league team. 🙂 Thus, the Royals gear…

Then the next morning, we headed to the zoo!
Their zoo really is incredible! We all had so much fun!
After quiet time at the hotel, we found a brewery for a happy hour cocktail in downtown Omaha
And then ended our evening with pizza in the hotel! It was a quick, fun trip!
That does sound like a great trip!

I can’t say I’ve spent much time there, either! We went to Omaha once when we were kids, and the only other time I remember visiting Omaha growing up was a campus visit to look at University of Nebraska.
