When I decided to narrow my absolutely can’t live without beauty products down to five, it was rough. So actually I ended up with six….but that doesn’t sound nearly as good as a nice odd number like 5! Ha!
In the summer, I’m not big on a lot of make-up. Most days, I opt for nothing but moisturizer and sunscreen. With all the heat and humidity of Kansas City, most days it feels fruitless to put anything besides that for fear of melting in the hot sun.
-1- Sunscreen :: It’s been my favorite face sunscreen since trying it two years ago. So good on my skin, which can be prone to break-outs and dry, dry, dry skin. And doing it’s job to keep the sun spots away! I also use it as my foundation primer, so it serves double duty when it needs to!
-2- Tinted Moisturizer :: I love a tinted moisturizer way more than any foundation. Especially in the summer. I want light and easy, and this has been my favorite for so many years.
-3- CE Ferulic Acid :: I get my Vitamin C serum from my derm, but this is the gold standard for Vitamin C serum is made by Skinceuticals. Diminish and reduce those dark spots and repair sun damage is definitely necessary all year round!
Out of nowhere last week, Nathan informed me that hed’ been doing some reading about Vitamin C serums. Per his research, there are cheaper Vitamin C serums on the market but they have a shorter shelf life once they’re opened, like 30 days. Versus Skinceutical having a 90 day shelf life from the time it’s opened, and it uses patented technology to deliver the Vitamin C into your cells more effectively.
-4- Mascara :: I think the perfect summer day look is light tinted moisturizer, a swipe of blush across the cheeks and nose, and mascara. That’s it. I think it highlights the breeziness of summer perfectly.
-5- Lip Color :: This is really where I got hung up on my must-haves for summer. So we’re going to group them all into lip color. 🙂 I love a good gloss in the summer that’s bright and cheery like you just got done eating a popsicle. This one is called ‘Trust.’ And you know, I never leave home without the old Chapstick.

I don’t leave home without mascara 😂 I will be barefaced in the summer but will always put on mascara.
This is a great list! I have all of these but in different brands. I have really been thinking that I need to invest in a Vitamin c serum as it has so many great skin benefits. hope you have a great weekend!
