Harrison is napping upstairs, and I’m finishing up my one, now cold, cup of coffee. Planning for the week ahead, assuming we’re still on Baby Watch 2020. I thought we’d do a little “currently for the Lanes…” Here we go…
MAKING: Making up toddler activities. With Harrison back at home, I’m back trying to come up with good toddler activities to keep him busy! Harrison loves all things sensory, so I try to do sensory activities with him as much as I possibly can. But there are some days that I’m just not up for the mess. That goes for baking too. You all that bake with your toddlers are my hero. Whenever we do that I end up stressed and want to eat all the brownies we’ve just baked.
WEARING: Lots of sunscreen! And minimal make-up. I realized the other day that I wear three different products on almost a regular basis during the summer with sunscreen in them.
Is there such a thing as too much SPF? I figure there can’t be, so why not just opt for the SPF product.
Sunscreen || Mineral Powder || Tinted Moisturizer (I wear Suede)
LOVING: My job blesses us with a lot of paid time off, and given that I’m going to be out on maternity leave for the remainder of the year, I’m having to take it all right now before the baby comes. I work a few hours at my “real job” each day, and then spend the rest waiting on baby and taking care of Harrison. No complaints! Given that the last go around before Harrison, I was working crazy hours right up until the day before he made his appearance. There was definitely no down time!
USING: This fertilizer on my garden potted plants at least once a week. You can buy it on Amazon, but it’s pretty much always overpriced. A one liter bottle should run between $14-18. I can find it in one of my boutique garden centers here in Kansas City, and it’s usually popular enough, that I’m guessing you can find it too at a true garden center!
DRINKING: Water. And when it’s time to get fancy, La Croix. I’m awaiting that first sip of a beer or glass of rose with great expectation, though!
ENJOYING: The last few weeks or days as a family of three. I’m really trying my very best to appreciate and soak up the time. Even though I’m exhausted from pregnancy insomnia and trying to keep a very active toddler occupied and using all of his energy for good! (let’s be real, most days that only happens a portion of the day), I’m VERY cognizant that life is about to change drastically, and my time will have to be split away from my first baby. So, I’m really trying to soak in all things Harrison, the ease of our time together without having to attend to baby’s needs, and just doing my very best to make sure he knows how much I adore him.
Lauren, have you ever shared what you do for work? Do you think you’ll ever consider being a full-time stay at home mom? Have you guys considered whether your second bundle of joy will be your last?? Hope you’ve had a great day!
I work for a public accounting firm. We’ve considered the SAHM gig, but we’re just not ready to make that big of a decision yet. Same goes for another baby. Got to see how we do with two first! Hope you had a good day!!
