What’s Up Wednesday {10.30.19}

We’ve had the best October! We’ve done ALL the fall things. Not to mention enjoying the outside cooler temps – cooking out, playing outside in the yard, having the windows open. Those are my absolute favorite days.

I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share with you what’s going on in our life lately!

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

Nathan is traveling most of this week, so I’ve kept dinners easy for Harrison and myself

  • Monday: Nathan made brisket this weekend, so we’re doing leftover brisket
  • Tuesday: Pulled pork
  • Wednesday: Leftovers
  • Thursday: Chili
  • Friday: Leftovers again
  • Saturday: ….no idea

2: WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

October is a very special month around the Lane house. Nathan and I got engaged in October, and married in October a year later. Started dating in October. This month just brings back so many wonderful memories with Nathan and the beginning of our relationship. I love having all of these beautiful memories of just getting to know Nathan, falling in love with him, and marrying him. I love reminiscing this time of year as we go into the holiday season.

I wrote a post about a few things I’ve learned from our first five years of marriage here.

3: WHAT I’M LOVING:

This time of year when the weather cools down, and the bugs seem to disappear is when I LOVE being outside. Cooking on the grill or smoking ribs on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, going on walks with Harrison and playing at the park.

Look at my two favorite cuties at the pumpkin patch the other week!

4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

All the fall things! We’ve gone to the Cider Mill

And gone ‘patchin’ at two different pumpkin patches!

And smoked ribs, and did some fall planting.

I love this time of year getting to enjoy being outside again without having to be in the pool at all times 🙂

And our little guy did some pumpkin decorating, and had his Halloween party at daycare!

Seriously, the BEST month!

5: WHAT I’M DREADING:

With a little one at daycare, I’m dreading ‘germ’ season. Last year was THE WORST with a sick kiddo. I swear I had a sore throat from the time he started daycare in October until March. Maybe there was a week or two that we weren’t sick, but it didn’t feel like it. I’ve heard the second year is better, but you just always know the runny noses, sore throats, and viruses are coming! I’ve stocked up on all of our cold supplies!

Any good tips on how to keep the family healthy?

6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Finishing planting springtime bulbs! Harrison helped me get all of our tulip bulbs planted a few weekends ago when it was dry and beautiful. I love that he’s interested in helping, digging in the dirt and finding worms.

And it’s starting to get to be a busy time at work, so I’ve been gearing up for our busy season.

7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

Harrison is TRICK-OR-TREATING for the first time tomorrow!! And I’m so excited for another first! We’re going to have the cutest little blonde Mario that ever was!

8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

Hey all….still reading the saaaaame book.

And I’ve been watching a little of my favorite junky reality shows. Like RHOC…

9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

I’ve been listening to Thomas Rhett on repeat lately. Can’t get enough of his Centerpoint Road Album right now. Not to mention, is Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren, not the cutest couple that ever existed? And those songs about Lauren…..ugh. All of the #relationshipgoals.

10: WHAT I’M WEARING:

You all knew it was coming…my AllBirds . Hands down my favorite shoe right now. I wear them everywhere to run errands, head to my work-out class, even to work.

Cardigan || Shoes

Blouse

11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

We’re doing a little happy hour with some of Nathan’s co-workers, and the rest of the weekend is open for fun!

12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Nathan and I are getting away for a few days to celebrate our anniversary together in NYC. I love going to New York for a long weekend. The shows, the restaurants, the museums, and the parks. I can’t wait to spend a few days not on a toddler schedule and go wherever the wind blows us!

I’m also so excited for Harrison’s second Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season!

13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

Nothing!

What’s up with you?

  1. Enjoy NYC. It’s one of my favourite cities and I’m not a city person 🙂 Also, my husband was away for the first part of this week (coming home tonight – yay!) and we ate all the easy meals. Ha!

    1. What’s your favorite thing to do in the city?? We’re trying to figure out our itinerary now and I need some ideas!
