Once a month, I link up with other blogs to share a little peek into some small aspect of our lives. This month, we’re sharing our holiday decor storage. Earlier this year, though, we shared…
- In January, we looked at our coffee stations.
- February, we looked at our love languages
- In March, we shared our perfect night in
- April, we looked at our fridge and pantry staples
- In May, we looked at our backyard organization
- For June, we shared our summer bucket list
- July, I shared the most horrendous bathroom organization tour ever
- For August, I shared my favorite phone apps and phone case
- And last month, I shared how I meal plan, including my favorite meal planning notepad
Today, I’m taking you into our unfinished basement for a truly glamorous look at our holiday decor storage.
Are you ready for it? Ok…here goes.
All of our holiday decor gets stored in our basement because it’s unfinished.
These are the best storage containers out there…
They are the perfect size for pretty much allll decor. I like having the same size for everything, because they easily stack and fit into our shelves in the basement. And most importantly, they are clear so I can see what’s inside of them.
I don’t believe in opaque storage containers. I know that every year Target hauls out those cute red and green storage containers for Christmas stuff, but I’m here to tell you, clear is the way to go. The number of times I go down there wanting to just get tree decorating items, or just fall faux florals. It’s so easy with the clear containers to grab what I need, and not haul out container on container searching for what I want.
I will give to you one opaque storage container that really changed the game for me last Christmas, though….
This guy. I’m not going to go down into our basement and haul out ours, but this ornament organizer from the Container Store. My gosh, it was life changing from someone who looooves when everything has it’s own spot. I can’t even link it yet, because it’s not available yet for the season. When it does some out, though, grab a few. We can file this in the “I can’t believe it took me 36 years to buy this” category.
Tell me, though, how you store your Christmas lights. I’m still at a bit of a loss with how to not end up with broken lights…
