What’s Up Wednesday {10.30.19}

We’ve had the best October! We’ve done ALL the fall things. Not to mention enjoying the outside cooler temps – cooking out, playing outside in the yard, having the windows open. Those are my absolute favorite days.

I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share with you what’s going on in our life lately!

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

Nathan is traveling most of this week, so I’ve kept dinners easy for Harrison and myself

Naming Harrison Thomas

Naming a little one seems like such a huge responsibility. Nathan and I went back and forth for weeks on names. And then didn’t really totally agree, but for some reason stopped talking about it completely until it was like THE month that Harrison Thomas would join us in this world. We didn’t struggle at all agreeing on a girl’s name. But oh my goodness. I had no idea that I had so many “rules” when naming boys. I’m sharing a bit about why Harrison Thomas today…

Friday Favorites {10.25.19}

I love that Friday Favorites is a little recap at the end of the week. It’s almost a practice in gratitude and finding happiness and joy in the things that bring a smile to your week. Some weeks, I have more favorites than I could ever possibly share, and other weeks, I really have to think long and hard about what made this life wonderful. But that’s what it’s all about, right? Ebbs and flows. But finding gratitude always.

Dear Harrison, (v. II)

Sweet little boy. A year and a half since you came into our lives. This time last year we were going through so many new changes. You were going to daycare for the first time, and I was navigating the waters of going back to work full time. We’ve certainly found our routine, and our special times together.

Happy 18 Month Birthday, Harrison!

Friday Favorites {10.11.19}

I laid down in bed last night after a very long work day, and realized that I never finished today’s post. So here I am bright and early, working on finishing up the last of my Friday Favorites. Per usual, I’m linking up with ErikaNarci and Andrea to share a heap of random Friday Favorites!

You guys. THEY’RE HERE!! And I LOVE THEM!!

All About…Pregnancy

I’ve told you all before, but I’m a Timehop addict. And right now, I’ve got pictures popping up on my Timehop of my pregnancy with little Harrison. It’s been two years since finding out I was pregnant with our little guy, and I still think back to that time in my life reflecting on the things I wish I would have known. If I could just go back and tell that younger Lauren Lane, and actually have her believe me and take it to heart, what would I have told her about pregnancy?

At my baby shower with my mom and sister

I would have told her that…

Friday Favorites {09.13.19}

This seems like the first real Friday of the fall to me. It’s a Friday the 13th too! Friday the 13th’s (is that even a word?) used to always kind of creep me out, but then God gave me Harrison on a Friday the 13th. I always think about that now when a Friday the 13th comes around. Maybe they’re just a little bit special and lucky in the Lane house thanks to a little munchkin who changed our lives on just such a Friday.

I’ve got another round of random Friday Favorites of things that brightened my week today linking up with ErikaNarci and Andrea!

A Wish for the Cousins…

If you follow along here, or on Instagram, you’ll notice another little blondie that shows up in MANY of our adventures around this house.

This little girl:

This is “Cousin Evie” as we call her around this house. Everly is my sister and brother-in-law’s daughter. She is a little more than a year older than Harrison, and they live in a suburb of Kansas City about 30 minutes from us. Evie is Harrison’s only cousin right now.

A Boy and His Dog

Today is a very important day around the Lane house. It’s National Dog Day. I posted this picture on Instagram a couple of weeks ago.

(Not so) Little Miss Sawyer was my first baby. She’s my shadow. And she was one of the greatest blessings in my life. It may sound crazy, but she gave me the confidence that maybe someday I could be a good mom. She has loved me through some truly difficult times.
