My sister and I just got back from our trip to Charleston – one of my favorite cities in the US! I’ll blog more about that soon. We’re back to work today, and back into normal everyday life. I’ll miss the cocktails, amazing food, and shopping, but I sure am happy to be back home with my boys.
I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share with you what’s going on in our life lately!
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
The boys were on their own the first couple of days, but here’s what I have planned for the rest of the week:
- Tuesday: Shay’s Sausage Vodka Pasta
- Wednesday: Chicken Chili with biscuits
- Thursday: I have
bookwine club, leftovers for the boys - Friday: Leftovers or dinner out
- Saturday: Burgers on the grill
2: WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Four completely free days of laying on the beach, drinking cocktails, and absolutely no running around after a toddler in Charleston with my sister! Although, I missed my guys so much – and my burned calories during the day went way down. Can’t say the same for my consumed calories during the same period.
I’ve also just realized that Instagram has an archive feature where you can go back and look at the stories you posted a year ago. You all know that looking at pictures of baby Harrison a year ago is my absolute favorite. Love that cute little man. This time a year ago he was just starting to get ready to crawl – which truly blows my mind!
3: WHAT I’M LOVING:
Being home. And fall candles. I’m such a homebody. I love exploring, eating good food, and travel. But it makes me love and appreciate this little house and the people in it all the more.
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
So much travel! At the beginning of the month, we visited my parents in South Dakota along with my sister’s family. We had so much fun lazing around the cabin and not doing much of anything.
I blogged about our trip Here for part 1, and Here for part 2!
Then when we got home, Harrison started a new daycare closer to our house. He’s been LOVING it. And I am so thankful. Thankful that he’s adjusted so well, so impressed with all of the things they are teaching him, and just overall thankful for a beautiful new facility that is loving our kiddo well.
And then last week, Kendra and I jetted off to Charleston for a girls trip! Here’s one pic from the trip, but I’ll share many more and my do’s and don’ts of Charleston travel next week. 🙂
5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
I’m writing this Tuesday evening, so I’m dreading that first day back to work after a vacation thing….
6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
I’m still working through my garden outside clean-up getting it ready for fall! I’ve gotten through most of the stuff I don’t like about garden clean-up – namely the pulling up of all the annual plants. So, I think a trip to the garden center for some mums and pumpkins is probably in order this weekend. 🙂
7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Just regular, old, basic home life for a bit. I’m excited for some more fall walks as the days cool off, and some other fun fall activities with the family.
8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Oh boy…I’m still reading the same book as last month…and the month before that. Slowest reader of all time. I made a good dent in it during our girls trip, and I’m still enjoying every bit of it!
And I’m currently all sorts of sucked into Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
I’ve been doing a ton of listening to Rachel and Dave Hollis’ podcast Rise Together lately. We’ve also been listening to our go-to Taylor Swift and Thomas Rhett songs.
10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
All things LOFT. And this past weekend, I bought even more LOFT. Loft is hit or miss for me. But right now, it’s a major hit.
The little spaghetti strap shirt in the Charleston picture with Kendra is also one of my new favorite Loft pieces.
11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
Catching up on all things around the house! Laundry, cooking, cleaning, time with my boys! And hopefully a trip to the garden center for some Lauren-style fun.
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Nathan and I are going to celebrate our 5 year anniversary next month! I think every anniversary is a big deal, but 5 just seems like a really big number, and I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on where we’ve been over these five years of marriage together. I’ll share more on that in a later post!
13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Nothing! I’m out to pick up my little guy from daycare, and I am PUMPED!
What’s up with you?
Returning to work after a vacation is HARD. I hope it goes well for everyone.
Loved following you and your sister on your fun little trip to Charleston! So glad your happy to be home though! I’m the same way, I LOVE to travel but I love being home too!
