It’s Let’s Look day with Shay @ Mix and Match Mama and Erika @ A Little Bit of Everything! If you’re new here, it’s one day a month that we share a little peak into some aspect of our lives. So far this year, I’ve shared:
- In February, I shared what we ate in a week.
- For March, I shared a look back at college life.
- April, we looked at how we plan date night
- For May, I shared the things I love about my hometown, Kansas City
- In June, we shared our go-to summer lunches
- July I shared how I keep a healthy
- For August, I shared how a do every day tidying up
- September, we shared our closet organization
- And last month, I shared how we choose our Halloween costumes
Today we’re talking about where we shop for our Mom. This is my mom, Cheryl.
I love my mom. When it comes to shopping for a gift for my mom, I keep it very simple. She isn’t into new clothes, generally. She rarely wears make-up. She isn’t the cook of the family. And she is certainly never interested in the latest technology thing because she’s barely been able to figure out her iPhone.
There are a few things I can guarantee that she’ll always love. Plants. Birds. And Jesus.
December isn’t a great time to be buying plants. But my sister and I often gift her plants for mother’s day. We go with her to the garden center and let her pick out plants as a gift. (Apple didn’t fall far from the tree, did it? I’d love plants for every holiday, too.)
During the winter, I’ll usually stop by our favorite bird store and buy a Christmas birdseed wreath as a gift. Or, of course, a gift card is always good, too.
As for her love of Jesus, well, occasionally she’ll ask for something specific. But unless I get strict marching orders, she’s usually in the middle of study with the next one planned. 🙂
Truthfully, the thing she loves the most is quality time. So I tend to try to focus on one-on-one time with her than a physical gift.
Those all sound so lovely!
Your mom is a treasure. I view her as my bonus sister😇
❤️❤️❤️
Love this post. My mom is similar to yours.
Love that! It’s a perk that I enjoy the same things. 😁
