Our Wedding: Part II

Today is our eighth wedding anniversary. Last week, I shared some pictures and stories from our actual wedding day. It was such a special day for us. We got married in Kansas City, and it’s been so fun to go back and actually look through our wedding photos. My mom always tells us that there are few times in life where you can pinpoint a single day that your life changes forever. One is your wedding. Another is the birth of a child.

If you missed Part I, you can check it out HERE. Today, I’m sharing pictures from our reception and more!

Newly married!

Off on the trolley for pictures!

Our wedding party!

The boys….

And the girls…

I hadn’t yet discovered my green thumb yet, but I was still in love with my flowers.

While we were taking pictures, the reception venue finished set up.

Instead of table numbers, we used important places in and around Kansas City that held particular importance to us as a couple.

Our guests enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop terrace. How cute are Nathan’s parents?

Our first dance as husband and wife…

Mother/son and father/daughter dances followed…

And lots of dancing, drinks, and fun was had!

Instead of cake, we had a milk and cookies dessert table. All of the bakers in our lives made their most famous cookies from our childhoods. Nathan’s mom made peanut butter blossoms. My mom made my favorite chocolate chip cookies. Nathan’s grandma made ice sugar cookies. It was perfect, and served with your choice of regular, chocolate, or strawberry milk.

Our last dance for the reception was Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’.

And then as our guests lined up outside for our grand exit, Nathan and I shared one last dance together all by ourselves with just the reception venue staff around. It was so private and special. The perfect ending to a beautiful day. Just me and him.

A amazing wedding day!

And happy eight years to my guy!
